WILDCATS FOR RECOVERY-WEEKLY MEETUP 

Are you considering making changes around your use of alcohol or other drugs?  Is FOMO getting in the way? Perhaps you are simply sober curious or a Wildcat already in recovery seeking to connect with others on the path. This peer driven drop-in group welcomes all students interested in planning social meetups and engaging in activities that enrich and expand your college experience beyond the usual.

MINDFUL CHOICES

If you choose to consume alcohol, learn how to reduce risks for harm to your body, your brain, your peers, your reputation, and academic performance.  This class is particularly helpful to any student in the psychology, social work, or other human services field who wants to take a deeper dive into understanding harm reduction, neuroscience and addiction.

We're hot to go for this yoga class that will create space to appreciate our bodies, celebrate our identities, and lean into our sexuality. This class is in honor of Sextober and Body Acceptance Week. No registration required. Led by Dawn Zitney.

 

Weight Stigma Workshop – Health & Wellness Conference Room 1-2pm

Join us as we explore what diet culture is, and how it shows up all around us. We will dive into ideal body standards as identified by our culture and how this has influenced problematic relationships with food and diet culture. No registration required.

First Generation Celebration Week Workshop:  Empowered by Vision: Creating a Visual Tool for Inspiration and Motivation and Success 

Join us for an engaging workshop focused on articulating your values, strengths, and aspirations.  You will have the opportunity to reflect on what matters most to you and clarify your goals and your pathway to achieving them. You will create a personal visual tool that will assist you in staying focused on your vision for yourself and be a source for daily motivation.

Participants will:

·       Learn how to set goals that are specific, measurable, and achievable to help you succeed academically, assist with self-care, or support your career aspirations.

·       Reflect on and articulate core values, personal strengths, resources and support that will assist in shaping goal(s) and reaching them.

·       Create a personal visual representation (e.g., vision board or similar tool) that serves as a daily reminder of your goal which will provide motivation and increase your likelihood of success in achieving your goal. 

Snacks will be provided.
